$437 off Dell laptop, docking station, and 20-inch monitor mega bundle

Business laptops can be boring. We understand your pain when your system breaks down and it’s time for a thick, hefty BlandBook, in a business-friendly color, with the mandatory optical drive, average about of RAM, and cost effective processor. Sometimes computers exist to get work done — you know it and we know it — but when you have to pick up a work computer, it makes sense to minimize the blandness and minimize the price, so as much as possible can go back in your pocket.

This discount on a workstation bundle gets you a Dell Latitude E5520 15.6-inch laptop, a Dell docking station for charging and extra inputs, and a 20-inch Dell E2011H LED-backlit LCD monitor. The base configuration for the laptop is enough to get the job done, but it’s not anything to brag about. It has an Intel Core i3 CPU, 250GB HDD but only comes equipped with a single DIMM of 2GB DDR3 memory (so RAM upgrade is in its future). Graphics are integrated, the 15.6-inch display is HD (but not full HD), and you’ll get a free one-year hardware warranty and Microsoft Office Starter Edition. This laptop is not exactly a killer, but there’s more.

The Dell E Series monitor is an excellent add-on for the price. At 20 inches and backlit by LEDs, it’s an energy-efficient bargain. It displays 16.7 million colors, and projects an industry-standard 250 nits.

As the for the “workstation” part of the bundle, the dock — or, port replicator — provides all the extra inputs you need for the Latitude laptop. This includes five USB 2.0 inputs, one eSATA/USB combo port, Ethernet, VGA, DVI. This should give you enough space and range for most,  if not all, of your accessories.

In this case Dell’s gear is exactly on the cutting edge, but if you know you need a docking station and a new monitor, $733 is a great price
